South Texas ISD Science Academy serves high school students who live along the southernmost tip of Texas, the region known as the Rio Grande Valley. Because it is part of a public school district, there is no cost for students to attend, and bus transportation is also free of charge. Best of all, Science Academy maintains an open enrollment policy, meaning any student with the desire to learn and work hard can attend so long as he or she resides within the tri-county area.
South Texas ISD Science Academy partners with Project Lead the Way, Inc. a national pre-engineering program in which students can receive college credit beginning their freshman year. All seniors must research a real-world problem and develop a tangible solution.
South Texas ISD Science Academy offers a curriculum of choice with an emphasis on Science, Mathematics and Engineering that fosters curiosity, open mindedness and a passion for life-long learning.
